Got ECM?

Take Our Automated ECM Self-Test & See!

Error Correction Mode (ECM) is quite possibly the most important feature of the T.30 fax protocol (the language two fax machines use when transmitting a document). Faxes are transmitted page-by-page, one page at a time, using audio signals that are occasionally distorted by poor phone line conditions. When ECM is being used, the sender and receiver compare notes at the end of each page, and re-transmit any image data that might be incorrect or missing before moving on to the next page. This is the only way to guarantee that the receiver does in fact receive an exact copy of the fax, ... which is kind of the whole point and the reason we call it a 'facsimile'.

YET MOST T.38 PROVIDERS  DISABLE THIS CRITICAL FEATURE!!

DOES YOURS?

Introducing the ECM Challenge, our automated ECM test facility.

Here's how it works:

  • Give us your email address and your fax number.
  • We'll send you a fax, and let you know by email whether ECM was available or not.
  • Fax the received document back to us, and we'll check for ECM when you send, as well.

In today's T.38 marketplace, over 90% of T.38 calls proceed without ECM. This is a staggering statistic. Are you one of those 90%? Take the ECM Challenge and find out in minutes!
